Sludge incineration ash; Phosphorus recovery; Nitric Acid.
Incineration reduces the volume by eliminating the organic content and the potential energy can be utilized. The resources remaining after incineration are the nutrients and the inorganic material. Of the nutrients in ash phosphate is the most important to recover, which can be leached and recovered by acid. Incinerated sludge and ash from co-incineration with solid waste and bio-fuel were leached with nitric acid at different concentrations and contact time. Leaching with 30% HNO3 or higher concentrations and during 3hours gave more than 88.5% dissolution of phosphorus. The Phosphorus recovery is very attractive due
to limitation in environmental pollution and economic importance of Phosphorus.
