Abstract from the previous parametric study, the following comments may be drawn: 1. Parametric studies are generated because of cost and impracticality of generating data on the behavior of the cellular arched steel beams. 2. The parametric study was carried on full-size beams because the isolated web panel simulation model does not accurately represent the behavior beams. 3. The web openings had a great effect on the ultimate load. Also, the initial stiffness is decreased in the case of increasing the opening depth. 4. The effects of the circular web openings due to the web depth (D/hw) which is 0.00 and 0.25 are too close and the differences does not exceed 5% in the ultimate load for all cases of spans (medium, quite long and long spans). 5. The subtended angles had a real tangible in the ultimate load and the initial stiffness is increased with the increase of the subtended angle due to the arch action. 6. The subtended angles 75⁰ and 90⁰ are almost typical for the medium spans (20 m) and have differences 10% for the quite long spans (28 m) and finally, have differences 15% for the long spans (36 m). 7. The span differences had a great effect on the ultimate load but the initial stiffness curves are almost typical.. |
