Abstract
Purpose:
This thesis seeks to review the relationship of green supply chain management practices by studying its following dimensions [ green purchasing -green freight - green logistics] and achieving the competitiveness of freight transport by studying the scale of competitiveness [cost - quality – on time delivery] on the Greater Cairo coventrates.
Design/methodology/approach:
The study employed questionnaire forms as a means to record the results. Additionally, it suggests the importance of analyzing how national companies respond to the implementation of green supply chain practices. Furthermore, the study emphasizes the significant relationship between green supply chain and competitiveness of freight transport dimensions in order to show the potential contribution that should be seen a part of the Egyptian strategic plan.
Value:
This thesis provides the primary empirical assessment of the relation between green supply chain management practices and increased competitiveness among a sample of transportation industry within the Arab Republic of Egypt.
