Abstract This study was aimed to investigate the clinical signs, prevalence, and risk factors of some infectious skin affections (ectoparasites and dermatophytosis) in dogs and cats. In addition, different treatment trials were applied. A total of 140 animals with infectious skin affections (90 dogs and 50 cats) aged from one month up to eleven years from Sharkia, Ismailia, Kafr Elsheikh, Alexandria, Cairo and Giza governorates from various locations were examined. Skin scraping and ectoparasitic samples were collected from the 140 animals. Clinical and laboratory investigations have been conducted to establish infections with ectoparasites and dermatophytosis in infected dogs and cats. In addition, treatment trials using selected groups of drugs were allocated to selected animal groups. |
