Abstract

The thesis consists of three main chapters:
The first chapter is the introduction. It explains the water pollution and its sources. Also, it clarifies the different classification of dyes and toxicity effects of these dyes on plants, animals and human health. In addition, it contains a survey about different techniques used to remove dyes from wastewater.
The second chapter is the materials and methods. This chapter mainly focuses on the experimental reagents and methods used for purification of kaolinite and preparation of titanium dioxide quantum dots-kaolinite nanocomposite (TiO2-QDs-Kao).
The third chapter is the results and discussion. The synthesized TiO2-QDs-Kao nanocomposite was characterized by using different state-of-the-art analytical techniques including XRD, XRF, XPS, FTIR, DTA/TGA, SEM-EDX, TEM, BET, BJH, ZP and UV-Vis DRS. The photocatalytic degradation of RhB was performed in aqueous solutions using the sustainable sunlight energy under atmospheric conditions and fixed neutral medium.
