Abstract Abstract The design and simulation of a basic efficient solar water pumping system is the subject of this thesis. It includes theoretical photovoltaic investigations as well as modelling techniques based on similar electric circuits. The maximum power point tracker (MPPT) is used in the system. Various MPPT algorithms and control strategies are discussed in the thesis. The DC-DC converter designs are verified using PSpice simulations. MATLAB simulations are used to compare two common MPPT methods utilising real-world irradiance data. The output sensing direct control method is chosen in the thesis because it requires fewer sensors. As a result, a lower-cost system is possible. In order to simulate the entire system in MATLAB, each subsystem is represented. It uses SIMULINK to simulate one type of pump motor, then exports the model to MATLAB. The system and functioning of MPPT are then verified using MATLAB simulations. In terms of total energy produced and total amount of water pumped each day, simulations compare the system with and without MPPT. The findings show that, when compared to a system without MPPT, MPPT can greatly improve the efficiency and performance of a PV water pumping system. |
