Abstract

Chapter 1: Introduction.
The research framework is presented in this chapter, which includes the research problem, research gap, research, and methodologies. On the other hand, this chapter looks at the project’s structural environment and conditions, such as project stakeholders and restrictions.
Chapter 2: Literature Review.
This chapter provides a review of the extensive literature in value engineering, Building information modeling, and metrics of investment. Also examines the method that can enhance decision support using Multi-criteria Decision-Making Analysis tools.
Then discusses prior efforts to integrate value engineering with Building Information Modeling approaches. The orientation and direction of previous integration attempts and the research gap will be revealed. The literature review will aid the researcher in knowing the rationale behind each integration effort and how to apply this knowledge to the research’s proposed integrated technique. In this chapter, the researcher will discuss the research subject and analyze the weaknesses in previous integration attempts to characterize the research gap and provide a suitable method to close it from the researcher’s perspective.
Chapter 3: Development of an Integrated Framework.
This chapter described the detailed adopted methodology of research, which is based on developing a multi-attributed decision environment to choose an optimum alternative in terms of changing the usage type of the existing building. By presenting a conceptual approach to developing a BIM model within the scope of 3D, 4D, and 5D of the model to obtain a detailed digital representation of alternatives design. The researcher explains how the creation of an Integrated Framework will aid in the calculation and discovery of new BIM and VE factors by utilizing the most effective tools and techniques for performing VE analysis (such as the likelihood and effect matrix, expected monetary value, and decision tree analysis). Then Developed a computerized programming platform by the Javascript programming language for applying the suggestion integrated framework. These components will determine a proposal’s overall VE rating. Incorporating the previously stated BIM features into the framework during the review process assists in reordering value engineering proposals.
Chapter 4: Implementation of an Integrated Framework.
In this chapter, the researcher applies the developed integration strategy to a specific pilot project as a case study to learn how this framework will be accepted and implemented in another project’s scenarios. The goal is to determine the integration framework’s validity and the scope of its use. And how it may be altered to suit each project’s unique conditions and requirements.
Chapter 5: Conclusions and Recommendations.
This chapter summarises the study findings on the benefits of the integration strategy as presented by the researcher, then moves on to application recommendations and how to help the decision-maker.
