Abstract

.
Nitrate levels in water for human consumption have risen in recent years. Consumption of sodium nitrate in drinking water and food and has been linked to disorders such cancers of the stomach, liver, colon, lung, thyroid and kidney in humans. Lactoferrin as natural product to work as antioxidant for the prevention of the harmful impact of sodium nitrate.

Lactoferrin has a wide range of beneficial effects on living organisms, including antioxidant, antiviral, anti-inflammatory, antitumor, antibiosis, and antiparasitic properties. Lactoferrin has also been shown to boost the immune system, protect the cardiovascular system, reduce gastrointestinal stimulation, improve sleep quality, affect elemental Fe metabolism, and balance Fe levels in the body.
.
In conclusion, Lactoferrin protects the liver of rats from injury induced by sodium nitrate through regulating hepatic inflammation and lowering hepatic oxidative stress, according to the findings of this study. Lactoferrin reduces free radicals, improves liver function, and improves hepatic marker enzymes, so this study recommended the use of Lactoferrin.
