Abstract

Abstract
Sustainability in the supply chain is an important issue nowadays, and the vendor managed inventory system approach can be considered as an improvement of the organization’s strategic alliance. Most of the previous studies discussed supply chain sustainability, and the relationship between supplier inventory management and sustainability in supply chains in the pharmaceutical industry, but none of the previous studies linked between supplier inventory management and sustainability in supply chains in the retail industry. In this research, the relationship between (1) the sustainability aspects of the supply chain, which includes the environmental aspect, the social aspect, and the economic aspect, and (2) the vendor management variables, the inventory managed by the vendor, including the management variable, Production variable, inventory variable, service level variable, and transportation variable.
A statistical study was conducted in the light of a questionnaire distributed to supply chain experts in various industries in the market, and the approach used was a mixed approach by applying the descriptive approach and the quantitative approach by applying a survey submitted to various workers in the supply chain field in order to give a clear view about The relationship between vendor-managed inventory and supply chain sustainability The sample was as follows: 95% confidence level, And 8.5% margin of error, and it was found that the appropriate sample size is 133 samples as a minimum, and accordingly, the number of copies distributed was where the researchers distributed more than 200 copies and the responses of 148 answers after removing the wrong answer and the unfinished answers. The researchers also distributed the survey to various Industry sectors the people working in them have different hierarchical levels with different years of experience. The result of the study shows that there is a relationship between sustainability variables in supply chains and resource management variables for inventory. The results demonstrated the existence of a direct relationship between the variables of the supplier inventory management system, which have an impact on the variables of the sustainability of the supply chain.
