Abstract

This research studies ”the interference that occurs between Arabic and other languages during learning Spanish as foreign language.” It is multi-dimensional subject that could be considered from several axes: grammatical, morphological or phonetically, etc. This research limits to study specific component that falls into the full interests of the investigator, it’s ”phonetic interference.”
In recent years, it’s very obvious the expansion of Spanish as a foreign language in Egypt, not only at the university stage; that it can be seen lately in the increase of the number of the faculties of languages, for example, the two universities of Kafr El Sheikh and Aswan, but also it has been opened in the secondary stage recently. It is not something new to add that the number of Egyptian students who learn Spanish as a foreign language has increased in recent years. Therefore, this research focuses on phonetics as a very important part in the learning of E/LE that can affects on the communication especially for Egyptian students.
This research is based on doing an analysis of phonetics errors to Egyptians university students who learn ”Spanish” as a foreign language, and then the classification of these errors if they are as a result of interference from the mother language or a foreign language. Based on these conclusions, the research presents a didactic proposal to eradicate these errors, or develops strategies to avoid them.
