Abstract HCV infection and diabetes are two common disorders with a high impact on health worldwide. { The hepatitis viruses, particularly HCV, can affect not only the liver but also several tissues outside the liver, resulting in a wide spectrum of extrahepatic manifestations and morbid conditions to which diabetes mellitus has been included. During the last decade, it was hypothesized that diabetes could be one of more extrahepatic condition attributable to HCV infection.
