Abstract
Aim of the work: detect the value of use a modified type of partogram and comparing it with the classical type of partogram in reducing un indicated cesarean section rate, and to detect obstructed labor early to make earlier decision in management of labor. Patients and methods 140 patients were collected from Mansoura university hospital with respect of inclusion and exclusion criteria. Modified partogram was used with 70 patients and classic partogram with 70 patients. Results: Modified partogram had less cesarean section rate than classic partogram. Conclusions Modified partogram group recorded lower incidence of cesarean section rate than the classic. group. Mean time of start active phase of labor and duration from admission to delivery were shorter among group with modified partogram than group with classic partogram.
