Abstract

Based on the findings of the current study the following conclusions can be drawn: Near to half of the student was in the age group 16-18 years with mean age 17.75±1.635, More than three quarters of students had unsatisfactory knowledge of STDs, and low agreement toward risk behaviors and had a negative attitude toward STDs, While, the majority of them had positive preventive behaviors toward STDs, positive beliefs toward STDs, and had negative attitudes toward STDs. Moreover, there is a significant relation between STDs knowledge of students and their age, education, and place of residence. Satisfactory knowledge is higher in ages >18 than other ages. All students <15 years had unsatisfactory knowledge. There is a significant relation between students’ beliefs toward STDs and their education and place of residence. While, there is no significant relation between students’ knowledge about STDs and their attitude toward STDs.
Recommendations
Based on the results of the present study and research questions the following recommendations are suggested:
1. Implement health educational programs to increase adolescent student’s awareness toward STDs and its preventive behaviors.
2. Implement health educational programs for teachers and school nurses to ensure that proper STDs information is relayed in an age-appropriate manner that is interesting and retainable.
3. Further researchs should be conducted.

Summary
Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs) are a large group of infectious diseases associated with different etiologies, characterized by their sexual transmission and genital location, STDs prevention is an essential primary care strategy for improving reproductive health (Barrow et al., 2020).
Perception is the process through which the information from the outside environment is selected, received, organized and interpreted to make it meaningful, adolescents is one of the main groups at risk of infection by STD’s, this leads to the need to pay attention regarding their knowledge and exposure to risk behaviors, to estimate possible predictors of preventive behaviors, weak knowledge, attitude and believes regarding STDs (Barrow et al., 2020).
Aim of the study
The aim of this study was to assess perception of adolescent students toward STDs.
Research design:

Part 2: It is concerned with the attitude of adolescent students regarding STDs (Q1-Q16).
Field work:
The actual field work started at the beginning of March 2021 and was completed by April 2021 (2 months). The investigator was available in the study settings two days per week (Sundays, and Tuesdays) to collect data from (8 am to 1 pm).
The main findings of the present study were the following:
1. Near to half (49.8%) of the students was in the age group 16-18 years with a mean age 17.75±1.635. Also, 62% had a level education of Nursing Technical Institute while, 51.7% work with study, 62% had enough monthly expense.
2. All the adolescent students (100%) never had a relative with STDs.
