Abstract
Substance use is defined as the continued use of substances, illegal drugs, or the misuse of prescription or over-the-counter drugs with negative consequences. The consumption of legal and illegal drugs has in¬creased around the world. This increase is not just limited to mood-altering or psy¬choactive drugs, but it also includes many illicit drugs.Youth populations including university students are vulnerable to substance use particularly in developing countries like Egypt where circumstances may be favourable for it. Hypothesis of the work. • This study hypothesized that substance use is high prevelant among Egyptian university students in Mansoura University particularly Cannabis. • This study supposed that the prevelance of substance use is higher among medical and practical students to overcome the stress of the study. Aim of the work. This study aimed to detect prevelance of substance use among Egyptian Mansoura university students and to compare prevelance of substance use between three college categories (medical, practical, theoretical).
