The study aimed to identify the reality of technical education and the requirements for achieving competitiveness in its institutions in light of contemporary trends, to identify contemporary trends that have made progress in technical education and the most important challenges facing achieving competitiveness in the technical secondary stage, and to develop a proposed conception to achieve the competitive advantage in technical secondary schools. The study used the descriptive method, due to its relevance to its nature, using the questionnaire that was prepared, codified, and applied to a sample of Experts and teachers, to find out the reality of institutional excellence in technical education and its most important requirements, and the most important challenges facing achieving competitiveness in technical education, as the study sample reached (550) from the original community (3496), as it was distributed as follows: (100) experts from my college Education, Technology and Education (formerly industrial education), and (450) teachers in technical secondary schools in Sohag.
The study reached a set of results, the most important of which are: the presence of some deficiencies in the reality of the requirements for achieving competitive advantage in technical secondary schools, and the necessity of having several requirements (technological(2.76), legislative(2.72), human(2.71), administrative(2.66) and financial(2.49)) to achieve the competitive advantage and there was great agreement among the sample members on Its importance, as there was a great agreement on the existence of a set of challenges, the most important of which were (lack of legislation that supports competitiveness, lack of financial resources, lack of use of modern and advanced technology, deficiency in the professional and educational preparation of technical secondary education teachers. And technologically, the weak use of modern administrative methods, the weak encouragement of technical secondary education students for creativity and innovation. Weak financial resources allocated to technical secondary education) facing the achievement of competitive advantage in secondary education schools. All this gave the researcher a specific picture of the reality of technical education and the most important requirements for achieving competitiveness in light of some global trends, so the study presented a proposed vision to achieve the competitive advantage in technical secondary education.
