Abstract
A solar distillation unit was built to execute the aim of this study. Experiments were carried out on the solar distillation unit during the period from 24th August, 2016 till 24th May, 2017 at the Agricultural Engineering and Bio systems Department, Faculty of Agriculture, Menoufia University (latitude 30o).
The solar still was designed in the form of pyramid; the three sides of the still were inclined 30o on the horizontal level, this is the optimal inclination angle for the latitude of the place of the study. These sides made of glass with 4mm thickness. The frame and the base of still were made of aluminum. Still’s base was isosceles trapezium. The equal legs were 0.9 m, and the parallel sides were 0.7 and 1.34 m.
