Abstract

T
his study was conducted to evaluate the effect of grafting the jumping gap using i-PRF mixed with composite bone graft, around immediately single non-submerged implant in the esthetic zone on the hard and soft tissue at 6 months follow up. 16 fresh extraction sockets in 16 patients (6 male and 10 females, with age range from 26 to 45 years) was recruited in this study. The subjects were randomly allocated into one of the treatments groups. Atraumatic extraction was utilized in both groups using periotome. In the study group, placement of immediate implant was done and the jumping gap between the implants and the socket bony wall was filled with a mixture of injectable platelet rich fibrin and composite bone graft. In the control group, placement of immediate implant was done and jumping gap was filled with composite bone graft alone.
Cone beam computed tomography scans were taken immediately post-implant placement to measure to measure the size of jumping gap and at 6 months follow up period to measure the amount of ridge alteration.
Clinical measurements were done to assess the thickness of the gingival biotype prior to teeth extraction and at 6 months follow up period using a periodontal probe visibility method and pink esthetic score values were recorded at 6 months follow up period for each single-implant tooth.
The results obtained were tabulated and statistically analyzed, changes in jumping gap thickness were statistically analyzed using t test
Horizontal and vertical radiographic measurements were not statistically significant at 6 months follow up in both groups. Also, the ridge alteration measurements were not statistically significant at 6 months follow up.
Bone density was measured post-operatively and 6 months follow up and showed decreased values during this period but no statistical significant was observed
