Abstract
The aim of the present study was to evaluate the effect of Botox injection on orbicularis oris muscle of the rabbit using

5. The orbicularis oris muscle of the control group was composed of elongated, unbranched and cylindrical multinucleated muscle fiber cells . The nuclei were flattened and located at regular intervals at the cell periphery.
6. As for experimental groups, there were remarkable changes in muscle as muscle fiber degeneration, several area of muscle fibers with irregular outline and irregular nuclear arrangement. Fibrous tissue between the muscle bundles and fat cell accumulation were also seen. These changes gradually increased as the duration increased.
7. Immunohistochemical Results:
8. The control group showed negative immunostained sarcoplasm and nuclei for caspase-3. As for experimental group, there were sarcoplasmic immunopositive reaction for caspase-3 with negative immunoreaction in the nuclei. This reaction increased as the duration increased.
9. Image analysis results:
10. Significant increase in the red binary color was observed in the experimental groups as the duration increased.
