Abstract Two field experiments were conducted at Kafr Meet Faris Village near El-Mansoura, Dakahlia Governorate, Egypt during the two winter seasons of 2015/2016 and 2016/2017. The aim of these experiments was to evaluate the effects of sulphur fertilizer levels and foliar spray with some natural stimulants substances on growth, yield and its components as well as chemical constituents and storability of garlic (Sids-40 cultivar) ,The experimental design was a split-plot with three replicates. The main-plots were devoted to four sulphur fertilizer levels as follows: Control treatment ( untreated )- 150 kg S/fed -300 kg S/fed -450 kg S/fed ,The sulphur fertilizer levels were applied as soil application two equal doses, during soil preparation (pre-rowing), and 30 days after planting. While, foliar spray with natural stimulant substances treatments were randomly distributed in the sub-plots as follows: Foliar spray with tap water (control treatment) - Foliar spray with yeast extract at the rate of 100 ml/L - Foliar spray with moringa extract at the rate of 100 ml/L - Foliar spray with chitosan at the rate of 200 mg/L , The foliar solution volume was 200 liter/fed and spraying was conducted by hand sprayer (for experimental plots) until saturation point three times after 45, 60 and 75days from planting. |
