functions. Anxiety symptoms are commonly intertwined with more positive symptoms such as delusions and hallucination can complicate the course of schizophrenia. The aim of this study assesses the relationship between positive symptoms of schizophrenia and level of anxiety among schizophrenic patients. The descriptive correlational design was utilized to achieve the aim of this study. The study has been conducted at the Psychiatric Mental Health Hospital in Banha City which is affiliated to the General Secretariat. A purposive sample of 100 patients of schizophrenia who were hospitalized at the above-mentioned setting was selected. Three tools used: First tool: A structured interviewing questionnaire consisting of two parts: to assess Personal characteristics and clinical data of schizophrenic patients. Second tool: positive symptoms Scale to assess the positive symptoms of schizophrenia. Third tool: Anxiety scale to assess the level of anxiety. The Results of this study revealed that the majority (87%) have positive symptoms of schizophrenia and (60%) have severe anxiety. There is a positive significant correlation between positive symptoms of schizophrenia and level of anxiety. Conclusion: Most of the Schizophrenic patients have positive symptoms ranging in its degree from mild, moderate and severe, Anxiety symptoms appear strongly related to the presence of positive symptoms when positive symptoms increase the level of anxiety increase. Recommendations based on this result recommended that diversional activity therapy and stress management should be given to schizophrenic patients to decrease positive symptoms and their level of anxiety.
