Abstract

In this research work, Pure and silver doped TiO2 & ZnO nanoparticles with different wt. % were prepared by combined sol-gel/chemical reduction method, in which chitosan acts as a steric stabilizer and environmentally benign reducing agent for silver ions, for photocatalytic degradation of methylene blue and indigo carmine dyes. Structural, morphological, surface, and optical properties, of the prepared samples, have been studied by using physicochemical techniques such as X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), High Resolution Transmission Electron Microscope (HRTEM), Nitrogen physisorption method, Diffuse Reflectance Spectroscopy (DRS) and photoluminescence (PL) Spectroscopy.
