المستخلص The research mainly aimed to study the cultural identity and its relationship with the house interior design for the recently married wives through a series of sub-goals: Determine the levels of awareness of cultural identity to for the recently married wives, studying awareness of the house interior design of the recently married wives, study of the relationship between the social and economic level variables of recently married wives’ families, cultural identity and interior design (husband’s age - wife’s age - number of years of marriage - number of family members), to clarify the correlation between cultural identity and interior design of the house of recently married according to some social and economic variables, evaluating the differences between recently married wives’ in cultural identity and interior design according (house place - household type- wife’s work), interpretation of the contrast between recently married wives’ in the cultural identity and interior design according to (couple’s education level- the family income - number of years of marriage). The study tools were applied to a sample of (200) recently married wives in Menoufia towns and villages and from different socio-economic levels. The sample was selected in an objective and accidental way as the researchers stipulated that the sample be recently married for not more five years. Data was collected through the interview, then calculated, compiled, tabulated and analyzed statistically using Spss ver. 22 Program. The study results have revealed a lack of statistically significant correlation between the cultural identity of recently married women sample of study and the interior design, the lack of correlation statistically significant between both the wife’s educational level and family income and their cultural identity, having a positive correlation statistically significant between the number of marriage years and interior design at level (0.05), the lack of correlation statistically significant between both the educational level of the recently married husband and wife and the wife’s family income and interior design for, having statistical differences in the averages of the cultural identity scores of recently married women according to the residence place (rural- urban) at level (0.05) for urban wives the sample of study, differences statistically significant in the averages of interior design scores for recently married women according to residence place (rural- urban) at significant level (0.01), there are differences statistically significant in averages of cultural identity scores for recently married women depending on the type of family (nuclearcomplex) at significant level (0.001) in favor of recently married women living in nuclear families, the lack of statistical differences in the averages of cultural identity and interior design for recently married women depending on family type (nuclear- complex), the absence of statistical differences in the averages of both the cultural identity and interior design for recently married women according to the wife’s work (working/non-working) and the absence of variation statistically significant in each of the cultural identity and choice of interior design of their house depending on the wife’s education. The study recommends the need to develop a new model that combines Western and Egyptian designs so that a certain model may not overshadow another and the Egyptian heritage may be preserved from extinction. |
