Abstract Considering the Functional and clinical importance the fish gills have, this study is concerned with the most prevailing gill diseases caused by different parasitic, bacterial and mycotic fish pathogens with studying the correlation between the change of the water physiochemical parameters and the prevalence of these infections. This study revealed the isolation of different fish pathogens from gills of examined fish (Nile tilapia and African catfish) which were collected from El salam canal and El Manzala Fish farm Dakahlia Province from December 2014 to November 2015 with occurrence of mixed infections. This study also revealed the strong association between the continuous change in environmental conditions and the high prevalence of these infections which were more obvious in El salam canal due to water pollution. This Study also revealed the antimicrobial activity of bergamot oil against different bacteria isolated in this study recommending is further researching in wide scale. |
