The studied area lies in the Nile Delta of Egypt; it is limited by the<br>latitudes 31˚ 12ʹ to 31˚ 28ʹ North and the longitudes 30˚ 16ʹ to 30˚ 32ʹ East. The<br>aim of the present study is to evaluate the environment and hydrology of the<br>groundwater by using electrical method, and to detect the morphological change<br>of the coastal line; the present study depended mainly on the following:<br>A. The available maps (topographic and geologic maps) and landsate images<br>of ETM Data (9 bands) in dates (1997, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2014) of<br>North West Delta<br>B. Conducting electrical resistivity survey on the study area and collection of<br>waste samples &#102;&#114;&#111;&#109; the existing groundwater points.<br>The current research focuses on monitoring the shallow groundwater<br>aquifers and examines the effect of sea water intrusion on these aquifers and the<br>validity of the usage of these aquifers using geophysical data. For this purpose,<br>1-D and 2-D inversions based on the least squares method with smoothness<br>constraints for a Schlumberger Vertical Electric Sounding (VES) data were<br>carried out to identify the type of groundwater aquifers (fresh, brackish or
