Abstract

240 shrimp of three different species (Penaeus japonicas, Penaeus semisulcatus and Penaeus kerathurus). They were represented as each 80.
They were randomly collected from a private shrimp farm correspond to Mediterranean Sea, Damietta triangle in summer season 2013.
The objectives of this study were:
1-Studying the clinical picture of the infected marine shrimp (Penaeus japonicus, Penaeus semisulcatus and Penaeus kerathurus ).
2-Isolation and identification of the causative agents from the examined marine shrimp.
3-Recording the total and seasonal prevalances of diseases.
4-Detection of antibiogram sensitivety of the isolated organisms.
5-Treatment trials of the examined diseases.
6-Recording the histopathological alterations resulting from the diseases.
The clinical picture of the naturally infected shrimps showed bluish gray coloration, irregular swimming and reduction of ration consumption, destruction of appendages, and reddish coloration of the body with black or white patches on the exoskeleton. Also, destruction of the swimming legs and uropod, abdominal segments and telson. Congestion and cloudness of the abdominal musculature and uropod. Swelling and congestion of the head and gills, marbling with mucus secretion with sticking. In some cases, stomach was empty with pale coloration.
The hepatopancreatic region was dark with slight redness. Vibrio alginolyticus and Aeromonas sobria were bacteriologically identified with total prevalence of 50 and 25% respectively. The histopathological alterations of the diseased shrimps were recorded and discussed. We could be concluded that using Ciproflocxacin 10%, as it was the antibiotic of choice invitro antibiogram revealed successful response after 3 days.
