Abstract

The current work aims to study the structural performance of
ferrocement reinforced with different materials and different opening location.
Different types of reinforcing materials such as welded metal mesh, expanded
metal mesh and polyethylene mesh was used.
The total number of the studied beams was fifteen ferrocement plates of total
dimensions 1500X500x50 mm. These plates were cast and tested up to failure
under four points’ loads. Several parameters were considered in this
investigation. The considered parameters in the present investigation are type
of innovative materials and opening location. These slabs were organized in
five groups each group comprised three or four slabs. The first group is the
control group in which test specimens were cast using ordinary reinforcement.
The specimens of the other four groups were cast using welded metal mesh,
CE151 polyethylene mesh, CE121 polyethylene mesh and expanded metal.
