المستخلص
This research focuses on analyzing Mustafa Kamel’s (1874-1908)
political discourse which includes his speeches and articles that were
published in different Egyptian newspapers. It also aims to introduce the
tools which Kamel used in his speeches to achieve an effect and persuade
readers of his mission inside and outside Egypt to support the Egyptian
cause and to resist the English occupation at that time.
Research Material
Parts of Mustafa Kamels’ speeches and his published articles in Al-
Ahram, Al-moaed and Al-Lewaa newspapers

Research Method
The research is built on the pragmatic method in discourse analysis in
association with the speech act theory, linguistic communication theory
and their concepts as well as the theory of written and spoken discourse.
Contents
The study is divided in to an introduction, which defines the topic of
the study, a preface, three chapters and a conclusion, which presents the
results arrived at in the study.
The Preface is divided in to two sections:
1- Analysis of political discourse (concepts, history and attitudes)
2- Contemporary political and historical context of Mustafa Kamel’s
discourse.
