Abstract

It was observed that, there is some problems when using the adsorbents in the form of a fixed bed for the adsorption process, including that it does not achieve homogenous between the components of the bed. The first layers of the bed saturated water vapor in the rear while the layers does not take advantage and it appears we have a good not to exploit to the absorbent the amount constituting the bed shape. Another problem is large pressure losses through the dehumidifier, so increasing the energy required to push air through the bed. In this study, it is proposed to replace the vertical bed by another inclined one with different angles (inclined circulating bed) and the purpose of that expected a larger type of homogenous. So plan has been developed for this study, which fall within the improvement and development of systems of air dehumidifier using solids adsorbent. This thesis includes six chapters. In chapter one, an introduction is presented to describe the different types of dehumidification process, including types of desiccant and the importance of using these in air conditioning and refrigeration systems In chapter two, some previous works have been surveyed to describe the performance parameters of the fluidized bed. This review showed that there is no comprehensive study to describe well the performance of the inclined dehumidifier system. In chapter three, the experimental part, experimental system involves a circular acrylic glass tube containing the particles of silica gel. The moisture capacity of the bed is measured using a gravimetric technique. Process air at nearly constant ambient parameters and different values of flow rate are used during adsorption.
