Abstract
High strength concrete (HSC) represents a rather recent development in concrete material technology to achieve enhanced mechanical properties. Nowadays HSC is used in many RC structures. Slab systems very often include openings in many cases. When openings are located near the column they affect mainly the shear strength of the slab while if they are located in the middle, they affect the flexural strength.
